• Sunday 26 April 2026 Reception's Chick hatching experience The children in Reception have spent the first week of the term learning all about the lifecycle of a chick. We had 7 eggs delivered at the beginning of the week and by Thursday morning, we had 7 healthy chicks. The children enjoyed watching the chicks hatch and observed them drying in the incubator, before being moved into a large brooder cage. We all absolutely love watching and cuddling the chicks.
• Thursday 23 April 2026 Bronze class English We started our new text today which is 'The Owl Who Was Afraid of the Dark.' We were very excited by our soft toy Plop, the main character in the story. After we listened to the beginning of the story, we made our very own Plop using feathers. Then, we role played as Plop and asked him questions, using our question marks in our writing. We have completed some lovely descriptive writing of Plop too. What a busy start to the term!
• Thursday 23 April 2026 Year 3/4 - April 26 - The Jungle Book Year 3/4 put on an amazing show for The Jungle Book! We are so proud of everyone for taking part.

• Thursday 2 April 2026 Nursery-Easter Fun with Tiny Tweeties Morning and Afternoon Nursery had a wonderful end to the term singing and dancing to springtime themed and Easter songs with our friends from 'Tiny Tweeties'.
• Thursday 2 April 2026 Year 1/2 - March - Church As part of their Religious Education unit on Christianity, the children in Pink and Blue class visited St Thomas' church.
• Thursday 2 April 2026 Year 1/2 - March - Basketball Tournament This half term the children in KS1 have been learning how to play basketball. They have practiced, chest and bounce passes, dribbling the ball and most importantly working together as part of a team.
• Thursday 2 April 2026 Orange class DT Orange class have been working hard in DT to create some plush toys. We have needed resilience to learn lots of new sewing techniques; including a blanket stitch, back stitch and running stitch.
• Thursday 2 April 2026 Year 5/6 Hockey Tournament Orange, Purple and Turquoise class completed in an intra hockey tournament. All 3 classes showed excellent teamwork, friendship and determination as well as amazing hockey skills.
• Monday 30 March 2026 Nursery-Easter Stay and Play The children have had an egg-cellent time completing Easter themed activities with their parents and carers during our Springtime Stay and Play. We hope you all enjoyed spending time together in Nursery.
• Sunday 29 March 2026 Bronze class visit to St Thomas' Church Bronze class learned all about the Easter story on our visit to St Thomas' Church. We were all incredibly respectful and listened well to the stories and asked some very good questions. A big thank you to all the helpers at the church for being so kind and informative.
• Friday 20 March 2026 Nursery Book Start Visit This week the children in Nursery had a special visit from the librarian. She read one of her favourite stories all about a bear and taught us a new nursery rhyme. She kindly brought everyone a Book Start Pack with two wonderful stories and rhymes to share and enjoy at home. We hope you all enjoy reading your books time and time again and maybe visit the library to see what others you can find!
• Friday 20 March 2026 Nursery Red Nose Day! The children in Nursery looked fantastic in red today as they marked Red Nose Day with lots of red themed fun! Check out some of our super red nose designs!
• Tuesday 17 March 2026 Reception learn about the Lunar New Year In Reception, we learn about a range of celebrations from around the world. Recently we have been exploring the Chinese New Year Lunar celebration and the story of The Great Race.
• Tuesday 17 March 2026 Minibeast Mayhem in Reception This half term Reception are learning all about minibeasts and their garden habitat.
• Friday 13 March 2026 Ready...Steady...Grow! The children in Nursery have been learning all about growing this half term. They have been exploring how to care for plants and thinking about plants we eat. They especially enjoyed trying some different fruits and making their own 'super veggies' inspired by the wonderful story 'Supertato!'
• Wednesday 11 March 2026 Year 1/2 - February - Art The children in blue class have been learning all about the artist Paul Klee. They looked at his painting Seneccio and talked about the use of shape and colour. The children then explored warm and cool colours, adding black and white to create shades and tints.
• Wednesday 11 March 2026 Wonderful Writing Scarlet Class have been working really hard on their writing this half term. We have been using the text Stone Age Boy to inspire our ideas. We rewrote the story as an independent piece as if we were a character who time travels back to the Iron Age. We enjoyed reading our stories and sharing them with friends.
• Thursday 5 March 2026 World Book Day in Nursery! Nursery had a fantastic time celebrating 'World Book Day!'
• Thursday 5 March 2026 Orange Class Picasso artwork This half term Orange Class have been exploring the work of Pablo Picasso. We have mixed colours, created a colour palette and looked at his style of cubism
• Wednesday 4 March 2026 Samba Drums This term Purple Class have been learning about samba drums. The lessons have focused on rhythm, teamwork, and musical creativity. Through learning traditional Brazilian percussion patterns, children have developed their confidence and coordination.
• Wednesday 4 March 2026 Beamish Museum Last half-term Purple class visited Beamish Museum as part of our WW2 topic. The children enjoyed their workshop which looked at the lives of evacuees. They experienced what it would feel like during a blackout and reflected on how children would have felt when they had been evacuated.
• Friday 20 February 2026 Nursery Luna New Year! Nursery have had a fantastic week celebrating Chinese New Year! The children had a special visit from Joy who told us the story of 'The Great Race' and brought her lion! They all joined in with a lion dance and ate some Chinese food. The children have completed lots of fun activities linked to the year of the horse. What a lovely end to our half term.
• Thursday 19 February 2026 Reception celebrate Valentine's Day The children in Reception had spent the week learning all about Valentine's Day and the happiness that we spread when we share the things we love.
• Wednesday 11 February 2026 NSPCC Number Day Thank you to all the children, staff and families for another successful Number Day! The children really ‘dressed up for digits' and thanks to your kind donations, we raised a total of £169 for NSPCC.
• Monday 9 February 2026 Nursery's Love Week! This week in preparation for Valentines Day the children have been thinking about those that are special to them. Inspired by the story 'The Hug' we have discussed people who make us happy and thought of nice things we could do for them in return. The children have made lots of cards and pictures for their friends and family and completed other 'love' themed activities.
• Friday 6 February 2026 Nursery Number Day 2026! The children in Nursery have had a busy day focussing on number. They completed a Numberblock hunt around the school and had a fantastic time completing different activities to develop their number skills!
• Friday 6 February 2026 Super Shapes The children in Pink Class have enjoyed learning about shape in maths. They have created their own pictures using 2D shape templates and digital software, describing which shapes they have used. They have started to explore 3D shapes, naming the shapes and investigating the properties by seeing which shapes are best for building towers due to their curved and flat faces.
• Friday 6 February 2026 KS1 Road Safety Pink and Blue Class enjoyed a visit from Sara who came to talk to us about road safety. The children practised the processes: STOP, LOOK, LISTEN, THINK and LOOK RIGHT, LEFT and RIGHT again.
